Throughout the 1980s and 90s, Antwerp, a metropolitan region in Belgium, was immortalised as a hub for future-forward fashion. The retrospectively titled Antwerp Six, a group of six students that had attended the city's prestigious Antwerp Fashion Academy, Royal Academy of Fine Arts, unveiled their radical aesthetics to audiences at London Fashion Week in the mid-80s to acclaim. Fast-forward to the present day, the six designers, the academy and its hometown are now renowned for their influence on global fashion and Antwerp's fashion museums are featured heavily on tourist excursions. It's therefore no surprise that its students continue to devote themselves to innovation.
