Thus it can be concluded that silicone softener was compatible with the substrate and showed greater increase in dry crease recovery angle and reduced the stiffness of the fabric which got increased after the resin treatment alone. Moreover the harshness of the ramie fibres was also reduced. One wash and three wash levels did not have any effect on the bending length of the fabrics but DCRA of both the fabrics decreased. When DCRA of DMDHEU and modified DMDHEU in combination with softener was compared after one wash and three wash levels, DCRA of modified DMDHEU was still better than DMDHEU treated fabrics in combination with softener. Modified DMDHEU and softener treated ramie and cotton-ramie union fabrics showed highest hand value ranking. It also. showed improved wrinkle recovery angle. Among the two resins DMDHEU and modified DMDHEU the latter i.e. modified DMDHEU exhibited more increase in dry crease recovery angle of ramie and cotton-ramie union fabrics with softener. This increase was noticed at the cost, of decrease in breaking load of ramie and cotton-ramie union fabrics.
