We express our good wishes to you for a healthy, happy and successful New Year. We have been rendering our services to Government of India, for the past few decades, contributing our suggestions for growth of Indian Textile and Apparel Industry. Honourable Mr Santosh Kumar Gangwar, invited me for a Pre-Budget meeting and my Pre-Budget meeting with him took place on 6 January, 2015. Our suggestions were then published in Textile India Progress, January 2015, reprint sent herewith. Thereafter, during the year 2015, Government of India, Ministry of Textiles, took some policy initiatives for the growth of Indian Textile and Apparel Industry. We are grateful to Honourable Prime Minister, to you and all the Cabinet Ministers, Secretaries, who cooperated in making this happen. Inasmuch as Union Budget 2016-2017 is currently being discussed by Honourable Finance Minister, Government of India, we wish to apprise you of certain facts and make specific suggestions. In this context, we present you Textile India Progress Pre-Budget Memorandum dated Thursday, 7 January, 2016, for your perusal and necessary action.
