Lenzing has launched Tencel for use in carpets.rnLenzing said that the Tencel fibre offers a wide array of new features and benefits to the carpet industry and consumer. Previously natural cellulose fibres were too fine and short to be used in carpeting but the Tencel fibre has been specially tailored to enable its use in carpets.rnTencel offers moisture management properties, as moisture is absorbed inside the fibre and released into the environment. Lenzing said that this means that carpets made with Tencel fibre will help to reduce temperature and humidity fluctuations, moisture formation on walls and windows, as well as combating the formation of mould. Carpets made from Tencel are also moth-resistant, as moths feed on proteins.
