Competent quality assessments of textile products by independent organisations such as the Hohenstein Institute serve companies in European and North American target markets as a reliable basis for decision-making in the procurement of goods in Asia and other textile producing regions.rnWith reference to the import of textile products into the US, the Hohenstein Institute has been accredited by the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) as an independent testing laboratory for determination of total lead content in products for children 12 years of age or younger. US authorities, however, recognise certification according to Oeko-Tex Standard 100 as proof of compliance with current limits for total lead content.
