SIGNALLING SYSTEM NO. 7 IN C-DOT DSS

After developing the basic switch, C-DOT has successfully met the commitment made to the Department of Telecommunications by introducing Signalling System No. 7 (SS7) and Network Synchronization capability in C-DOT Digital Switching System (DSS). This article describes the C-DOT SS7 architecture and the field trial experience. With the graceful introduction of SS7, C-DOT exchanges are ready for the IN, ISDN and TMN of the future.
