ESSBASE, AN OLAP TOOL TO ANALYZE TELECOM BUSINESS

Essbase is an advanced online analytical processing (OLAP) tool that supports improving the understanding of customer profitability, product profitability, product quality, and many other aspects of operations. In today's competitive telecom market scenario, there is a need for business trend analysis like, which handsets and plans are in demand by customers, which geography areas are hot selling and which need more attention, which new plans need to be released in market, in breif a demand-supply analysis in various aspects. Essbase, supports these types of statistics gathering and analysis. This paper explains the features of Essbase, OLAP discription, the needs of a telecom company for their market trend analysis and how Essbase helps in deriving the analysis.
