WIMAX: THE FUTURE OF WIRELESS BROADBAND

摘要

WiMAX (Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access) is a broadband wireless technology which enables high-speed packet data access over air and is based on the IEEE 802.16 standard. It empowers users with enhanced mobility and ability to access 'High Speed Internet' without the need of connecting the terminal to any wired network or Wi-Fi (Wireless Fidelity) hotspot. It uses radio waves to transmit and receive data directly to and from the potential users whenever they want it.
