'E911' in N.H. Meets U.S. Standards, but Problems Exist

While the New Hampshire Bureau of Emergency Communications (BEC) provides a high level of service, it should institute internal policies and procedures to improve surcharge revenue tracking and conduct greater management oversight of revenue collections, among other improvements, an audit of the state's enhanced "911" (E911) system revealed recently. As part of a 66-page report released last month, the Office of Legislative Budget Assistant's audit division offered 16 recommendations for improving the efficiency and effectiveness of E911, most of which involved management and rulemaking matters.
