Improvements in e-mail authentication technology and processes and increased law enforcement were among the recommendations voiced by panelists at a "spam summit" in Washington who warned that not only does spam harm consumers through fraud and malicious software, but that it could lead to a loss of consumer trust in e-mail and the Internet.
