Missouri PSC Sets Average Rate For Basic Telecom Services

The Missouri Public Service Commission has issued an order determining the statewide weighted average rates for residential and business customers of nonwireless basic local telecom service to be $11.49 and $29.77, respectively. Regulators opened the docket in 2005, pursuant to a directive handed down by the General Assembly's passage of SB 237. Under that law, the PSC is required to establish the rate prior to January 2006, and repeat the process to determine the statewide rate again in 2008 and 2011.
