With the Feb. 17 statutory deadline for delivering a national broadband plan (NBP) to Congress looming ever larger, the FCC continued well into December to gather input through workshops and comments on a host of issues. However, the broadband team has begun focusing on possible recommendations to include in the plan, such as reducing existing universal service support for traditional voice service to free up funding to subsidize broadband services.
