Copps Pushes For Open-door Policies; Other Commissioners Say Job Creation Must Be Focus

The acting chairman of the FCC said at a Feb. 24 seminar that the Commission needs to take a closer look at its mission going forward and open more lines of communication with the private sector if it is going to deal properly with the issues coming before it. Other FCC officials, past and present, offered suggestions that ranged from boosting the Commission's focus on job creation during the current recession, speeding up decision-making processes, and increasing the agency's internal technological expertise.
