Goodlatte to Head Judiciary; New Commerce Chairs Named

House Republicans approved three new committee chairmen who will have oversight of panels related to the telecom sector. Rep. Bob Goodlatte (R., Va.) is the new head of the House Judiciary Committee, replacing Rep. Lamar Smith (R., Texas), who was termed out and moved over to head up the House Science, Space, and Technology Committee. And Rep. Mike McCaul (R., Texas) is the new head of the House Homeland Security Committee. All three were recommended by the House Republican Steering Committee Nov. 27.
