House Communications Subcommittee Passes DOTCOM Act on Party Vote with No Amendments

The House communications and technology subcommittee on April 10 approved on a party-line vote the Domain Openness Through Continued Oversight Matters (DOTCOM) Act (HR 4342), which would prohibit the National Telecommunications and Information Administration from relinquishing its oversight of the Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA) function carried out by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers before the Government Accountability Office reports to Congress.
