FCC Adopts Streamlined Process for Review Of TDM Discontinuations as Part of Tech Transition

Over the partial dissent of Commissioner Mike O'Rielly and with the concurrence of Commissioner Ajit Pai, the FCC at its July 14 meeting adopted a framework for streamlined consideration of section 214 applications to discontinue TDM (time-division multiplex) wireline services and replace them with wireless or IP (Internet-protocol) wireline services.
