VimpelCom, Affiliate Admit To Bribes in DoJ Settlement

The Department of Justice has announced that Amsterdam-based wireless service provider VimpelCom Ltd. and its Uzbekistan subsidiary Unite] LLC have entered into resolutions in which they admit to conspiracy to make more than $114 million in bribery payments to a government official in Uzbekistan between 2006 and 2012 to enable them to enter and operate in the Uzbek telecom market.
