Industry Praises New Spectrum Bill Despite Multiple Changes

The wireless industry is generally praising the MOBILE NOW Act introduced recently despite changes from a draft version of the bill that are not favorable to the industry. By contrast, the Department of Defense and other federal spectrum users and localities benefited from a number of the modifications. The bill (S 2555) was introduced Feb. 11 by Senate Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee Chairman John Thune (R., S.D.) and ranking member Bill Nelson (D., Fla.).
