As the UK economy recovers and grows, the balance of power is shifting back from employer to employee, and the battle to attract and retain talent is becoming fiercer. Few business leaders doubt that a healthy, engaged and resilient workforce is more productive and profitable, and also more attractive to potential new recruits. According to ICM research commissioned by Unum, employees who feel cared for are 27% more likely to stay with their current employer for more than five years, compared with those who feel only adequately or poorly looked after.
