Consensus on remedies tops Euro regulators' agenda

As the July 25 deadline approaches for the adoption of the Framework Agreement, national regulatory authorities (NRAs), European fixed and mobile operators and the European Commission are busy drawing up what they believe should be included in the Commission's forthcoming recommendation on remedies - the list of appropriate penalties for competition failure due to be issued in September as part of the new EU Communications package. In the first week of July, the European Regulators Group (ERG), an association of broadcast, radio and telecommunications regulators with the Commission acting as secretariat, closed its consultation with industry on appropriate remedies.
