Voice-over-the-internet operator Imass Telecom is expected to be the first of several start-ups to offer flat-rate voice services over the internet in Europe in 2004, using the model adopted last year by Von-age in the US. Vonage has garnered 100,000 lines since launching in March 2002. Imass will launch its Voice 7 service in a matter of weeks, according to the company's director, Tej Sood, and should be followed within the year by fellow start-ups VoicePulse and Packet8, which already operate voice-over-the-internet services in the US.
