Prospects for mergers and acquisitions (M&As) in west-em Europe's telecoms markets are the best they have been for a decade, according to a report from Credit Suisse First Boston (CSFB). The investment bank forecasts that the sector could be gearing up for a fresh wave of M&A activity that will be driven by cash-rich incumbents, the need for consolidation among the growing number of unbundled DSL operators and the rising presence of venture-capitalist (VC) funds.
