DSL and China to dominate broadband market by 2010

DSL will have consolidated its lead over other technologies, above all cable, in all geographic regions by 2010 as worldwide broadband numbers approach 500 million, states a forthcoming Informa Telecoms & Media report produced by Telecom Markets. Using figures from Informa's Broadband Subscriber Database, the report predicts that there will be more than 474 million broadband subscribers across all technologies in five years, with DSL accounting for nearly 375 million, or 78 per cent (see fig. 1).
