Japan, Korea telcos plan cross-border NFC

With NFC payments firmly established in both Japan and Korea, operators in both markets are attempting to expand their potential by implementing cross-border NFC-compliant services in both markets. NTT Docomo and KT plan to jointly develop common NFC specifications to be incorporated into devices, networks and billing platforms in both countries. The former runs a mobile wallet service in Japan while the latter operates a postpaid NFC payment service for transportation in South Korea.
