Telecom executives testified to the House Communications Subcommittee that their industry has enough motivation to protect its networks from cyber attacks. They said new legal requirements would be unnecessary and could be burdensome. "We don't know what it is that you should be telling us to be doing," said AT&T Chief Security Officer Edward Amoroso. But Congress should remove barriers to information sharing, promote cybersecurity education and invest in research and development, industry witnesses said.
