Success breeds more success, and that's exactly the rationale behind a new peer-to-peer faculty mentoring program launched at Washington State University "We have dramatically increased [our performance] in traditional metrics - we've doubled our disclosures, had a six-fold increase in the active number of licenses, and more than doubled our number of annual start-ups - so we wanted to find a way we could broaden our reach with the faculty," says Anson Fatland, associate vice president at WSU, explaining the recent launch of its Entrepreneurial Faculty Ambassadors (EFA) program. The initiative involves creating a network of faculty advisors who have successfully commercialized university research, who then advise other faculty who are new to the process.
