摘要

India is one of the fastest growing nations in terms of cellphone subscribers. Around 4 to 5 million subscribers are added each month, with current subscribers amounting to 62 million. At this rate, India will have 180 to 240 million subscribers by 2008. With such a huge potential, telecom operators are trying to maximize their profits by attracting more and more consumers with value-added services. The latest buzz is 3G, with its services slated to be available by the end of 2007. We take a look at what 3G is, what benefits would it provide to the consumers and at what cost.
