Acer has been gaining a strong foothold in the notebook market over the past year. They have notebooks ranging across various configurations and requirements available at extremely pleasing prices. The Aspire 8920 is amazing value notebook with a full HD screen and Blu-Ray drive. Now, with the subnotebook/netbook market picking up, Acer has launched their contender christened the Aspire One. Frankly speaking, after a few days, this shiny toy had me drooling all over it. I loved the color but wish it wasn't so glossy. A matte finish would've looked just as good and kept fingerprints at bay. The first thing that strikes you is the excellent build quality; way better than what you would expect of a 20k notebook. Despite the diminutive size (8.9" display with a resolution of 1024 × 600), it has 3 USB ports, audio ports, VGA, Ethernet port and even a card reader. The screen resolution is unconventional, but good enough if you've got good eyesight.
