If you like your gadgets thin, this new 1.5-inch thin TV will surely excite. How did those Japanese boffins at Hitachi make it so thin? While regular 'fat' LCD TVs use fluorescent tubes, this uses a new kind of backlighting called 'external electrode fluorescent lighting'. You can get it in 2 colors: black or white. The 32 incher is available in 4 colors; black, blue, white or red. Because of the slim size, the speakers must be smaller too. With dual 6 watt RMS speakers, don't expect any miracles. Wall mount this TV, and it'll almost disappear into the wall. You could even go a step further, and while preparing the wall for the cabling, make a 1 -inch rectangular depression the width of the TV. But make it a few inches larger at the bottom to allow usage of the power/volume/channel buttons, in case your remote batteries die on you.
