It's human's tendency to overlook threats until they cause some big trouble. And especially when it comes to data, we just have this misconception that nothing can go wrong with it. It is pretty much safe on the devices it is saved. We tend to forget about the logical and physical attacks that our data is vulnerable to. We can lose data in any of the ways-our machines (hard drives) can crash anytime, any moment without any warning, our files and documents might get corrupted, someone might steal information kept on our laptops, and maybe even the laptop itself.
