Insomniac Games are on top of the list when it comes to creating quality gaming experiences. The first Resistance was an all out gem of a game. But what does its much awaited and anticipated sequel Resistance 2 offers as a game? A single player campaign along with an 8 player co-op mode and a competitive MP component that pits up to 60 players against each other-a feature set that any player will find hard to resist. It is packed with amazingly intense action. Few changes have been made to the basic mechanics. The weapon wheel for instance, has been replaced with the Halo style, all but standard, two-weapon loadout. This particular scheme works rather well in MP fragfests, but comes undone in the SP campaign. The production values are fantastic. The quality of visuals is the best you'll see on the PS3, with superb and incredibly well done sound effects. To top it all off, the story involving Nathan Hale's defense against the mighty Chimera does indeed hold the game together and keeps you well hooked to the proceedings. I was mighty impressed by the dark nature and the sheer excitement of the conclusion, which for a change didn't seem like one of the Hollywood rip-offs.
