摘要

Fused polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) are of great interest in light of the utilization of these compounds as organic materials for electronic devices, such as organic field-effect transistors and light-emitting diodes. Most of the fully and planar-conjugated PAHs possess six-membered ring frameworks. On the other hand, pentalene, as-indacene, and s-indacene derivatives possessing five-membered ring frameworks have been synthesized and studied in regard to their stability, structure, and antiaromatic properties. Their application in the field of organic electronics materials is less advanced compared to the aforementioned six-membered PAHs.
