Nanotechnology applied to fibres, composites and coatings

In this first part of our review of the seminar Present Status & Future Potential of Nanotechnologies in the Textile Industry (which was held on 30 April in Leeds, UK) we looked at how nanotechnology is used to modify fibres for various applications, particularly the role of carbon nanotubes (see pages 11-14). In this second part, we look in detail at the impact of nanotechnology in sensors and actuators, composites, coatings and structures, medical applications and cellulosic fibres.
