Gavazzi Tessuti Tecnici SpA (see also, page 9) of Calolziocorte, Italy, makes technical tapes and multi-axial reinforcements for composites. The company supplies its glass fibre tapes with either textile or silane sizings, both of which it adds to improve the bonding of the reinforcements to the epoxy and polyester (PES) resins used as composite matrices. The other principal applications of the tapes are for thermal and electrical insulation, and cable windings.
