NEW FLAME-RETARDANT BIOPLASTIC

摘要

Bioplastics, made from plant-based raw materials, are environment-friendly since they cut down on carbon dioxide emissions and conserve oil resources. However, as of today plant-derived biobased plastics lack some important properties that are available in conventional petroleum-based plastics. An example for such characteristic is flame retardance-since bioplastics are normally not flame-retardant, the usage of these environment-friendly products is quite limited.
