PVA-PNIPAAm COPOLYMER FOR BIOMEDICAL APPLICATIONS

Poly (vinyl alcohol) (PVA) is a hydrophilic, nontoxic, and easy to process synthetic polymer. It has good pH stability and excellent mechanical properties. Because of its semipermeability and biocompatibility, PVA is interest, particularly for biomedical applications. Poly (N-isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAAm) is a theromosensitive polymer. PNIPA Am exhibits a lower critical solution temperature (LCST) in aqueous solution.
