Electrodeposition of zinc on steel was obtained from an acid sulphate bath containing condensation product (CP) formed between lysine and salicylaldehyde. The bath constituents and operating conditions were standardized by Hull cell experiments. Influence of experimental parameters on current efficiency was investigated. The morphology of deposit was analyzed by SEM and XRD studies. The corrosion resistance property of coating by salt spray test, Tafel and impedance data revealed its good protection ability. The effect of CP on bright nanocrystalline deposit was investigated by polarization studies under high and low current densities. Polarographic and cyclic voltammetric studies were carried out.View full textDownload full textKeywordscathodic polarization, electrodeposition, hull cell, sulphate bathRelated var addthis_config = { ui_cobrand: "Taylor & Francis Online", services_compact: "citeulike, netvibes, twitter, technorati, delicious, linkedin, facebook, stumbleupon, digg, google, more", pubid: "ra-4dff56cd6bb1830b" }; Add to shortlist Link Permalink http://dx.doi.org/10.1080/15533171003629113
