摘要

Douglas fir (Pseudotsuga menziesii (Mirb.) Franco) is among the commercially most important tree species. It naturally covers large areas in Pacific regions of the U.S.A. and Canada and is planted in other continents in many regions, including e.g. New Zealand, Western Europe, Argentina, Iran etc. Being much less used in the Czech Republic, it represents enormous potential for replacing domestic species planted out of their natural areal, especially Norway spruce. The presented study is oriented on the preliminary evaluation of the effects of Douglas fir on the plant communities of the herb layer of forest ecosystems. It was performed in different regions of the Czech Republic: School Training Forests of Kostelec nad Cernymi lesy, Krtiny, Hurky, Hranice. The plant communities were described using standard phytocoenological releves in older forest stands (60 years and older) with well developed ground vegetation, respectively in stands of Douglas fir, Norway spruce, European beech and other especially broad-leaved tree species (small leaved linden, pedunculate and sessile oaks), together 44 plots were sampled. The results confirmed acidification effects of Norway spruce and revealed some effects of the Douglas fir, supporting plant communities including more nutrients, especially nitrogen demanding species.%The aim of study was to characterize Douglas fir (Pseudotsuga menziesii (Mirb.) Franco) commercial stands and their influence on the forest floor plant communities. Study plots were performed in different regions of the Czech Republic. In total 44 plots were arranged in older Douglas fir stands with well developed forest floor vegetation. For the comparison, the study plots were also established in Norway spruce and broad-leaved tree species (beech, linden, oak) stands. Compared to other studied species, the main effect of Douglas fir on plants was noted in higher share of nitrophilous species.
