摘要

This paper provides the analysis of the influence of the temperature and precipitation on radial increment of Douglas fir trees growing in 50 partial populations across Poland [Feliksik, Wilczynski 2004]. The response function method [Fritts 1976] was used to investigate the climate-increment relationship (Fig. 2, 3), in which dependent variables were increment indices of site chronologies (Fig. 1) and independent variables - monthly temperatures and precipitation from the 1940-1994 period. The obtained results denoted that the main factor limiting radial increment of Douglas fir was the temperature during the winter and at the very beginning of spring as well as precipitation and temperature during the vegetation season. Important role was also played by weather conditions of the last year fall. However, the influence of the above-mentioned meteorological factors on the tree increment was differentiated locally and regionally (Fig. 4). This differentiation refers not only to the length of period in which the temperature and precipitation significantly affected wood forming, but also to the strength of the influence of these meteorological factors. The graphical presentation of the response function analysis results determines a model which describes a relationship between climatic conditions and incremental responses of Douglas fir (Fig. 2, 3) with a local and regional variability of the Douglas fir sensitivity to climatic factors.
