Eight cellrnmanufacturers from Germany have united to form a group within the industry association SEMI PV. This move is intended to strengthen both the German and the European position in global competition.rnAt the beginning of March, an interest group was established within the global semicon-ductor and photovoltaics association SEMI PV: the European Crystalline Cell Technology and Manufacturing Group (CTM Group). SEMI PV is the photovoltaics section of the international semiconductor association SEMI, which also includes the suppliers of microelectronic equipment and display technology. Eight manufacturers of crystalline cells have united to form the CTM Group. The founding declaration succinctly states the goal: the plan is a common approach towards the efficient and cheap production of high-quality solar cells.
