Ferro to develop new thin film encapsulation

The US-American photo-voltaics supplier Ferro Electronic Materials has been awarded research funds in the amount of $1 million by the Ohio Department of Energy Development (ODOD) to finance the development of innovative sealing systems for second and third generation solar cells.rnThe project is intended to help develop a sealing method that keeps thin film solar cells airtight and watertight for at least 20 years.
