The European market for solar water heaters is not doing well in the wake of the euro crisis. Things look better elsewhere. Chile and the BRICS countries in particular are seen as growth markets. Long gone are the days when the solar thermal industry could achieve strong growth year after year with thermosiphonic solar water heaters. What was once a growth market has become fiercely competitive.
