The laboratory of the Research Institute of Hungarian Sugar Industry accredited by the National Accreditation Board on 25th February 2000 is introduced. The significance of getting accreditation, the way leading to it, the main elements of laboratory quality system, the chapters of quality manual and the scope of the accreditation are briefly reviewed. Different activities of the laboratory are presented on the base of the number of samples and tests performed in 1999.
