May I join the club? On the architecture of code systems and the success of strategic diversification

摘要

The present essay aims at improving our understanding of organizational change as life-threatening for organizations. After reviewing the relevant literature and the common misunderstandings on this topic, we focused on the possible role of social expectations (i.e. audience and market type) in influencing the magnitude of an organizational change. To engage with strategic management scholars, we spelled out our arguments with respect to the legitimacy struggles faced by diversifying firms.
