CLAYTON IS NEW SEC CHAIRMAN

On May 4, 2017, Jay Clayton was sworn in as chairman of the U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC), replacing Acting Chairman Michael Piwowar. Nominated by President Donald Trump in January and confirmed by the U.S. Senate in May, Clayton has a wide-ranging background. He was a partner at Sullivan & Cromwell LLP, where for more than 20 years he advised both public and private companies about securities offerings, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, and regulatory and enforcement proceedings.
