Kasto have nearly 70% of the world market for automated storage and automated sawing systems for long products with over 400 units presently built worldwide. Synonymous with sawing, Kasto, with headquarters at Achern in southern Germany, recently celebrated its 150th anniversary. Except that the company remains a family run organisation, there is little else to link the present-day modern establishment with the original water powered wood saw mill set up by Karl Stolzer in 1844. Long ago, the company withdrew from its timber processing activities to concentrate on metal sawing.
