Sir, Nice idea to try and get Britain into human spaceflight (Time for Britain to be bold again', Spaceflight, November 2007, p409). But I don't think anything will come of it. I have worked with people my own age and younger and three things dominate their lives: sport, sex and alcohol. To them spaceflight is "too expensive" and money "should be spent on the poor". They seem quite happy to ignore bloated defence budgets and duly carry on with the three above 'hobbies'.
