Preparing For Space

Following his selection as a European Space Agency (ESA) astronaut in 2009, Tim Peake has focused on training to become a fully qualified member of ESA's astronaut corps. He achieved that in November 2010 when he graduated at the European Astronaut Centre (EAC) in Cologne. Now he is carrying out various duties as one of the six new ESA astronauts and is working toward being assigned for a coveted mission slot to the orbiting International Space Station (ISS) in the next few years. To find out how his work is progressing, Spaceflight's Nick Spall caught up with Tim at the EAC.
