Moon village springboard for a new society?

Five decades after humans first set foot on the Moon,an initiative is underway to return to the lunar surface-and this time,on a permanent basis.The "Moon Village" concept,first proposed by the European Space Agency (ESA),is based on global cooperation among multiple nations and industry partners.And it is exciting the attention of architects around the world,most notably Skidmore,Owings & Merrill (SOM),a collective of architects,designers,engineers and planners working together.SOM is responsible for some of the world's most technically and environmentally advanced buildings and significant public spaces.
