Jean-Pierre St-Maurice has been a full professor in physics and engineering physics, and a Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in Environment Sciences at the University of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon, Canada, since 2004. In 2009 he also became Chair of the Institute of Space and Atmospheric Studies at the University of Saskatchewan. Prior to joining the University of Saskatchewan in 2004, he had been a full professor in physics and astronomy for 17 years at the University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario, Canada.
